With over 20 years of experience in the networking industry, and working for Fortune 100 companies and the Federal Government, we have seen it all.  From ArcNet over 10Base2 coax cabling, through Token Ring, to today's Gigabit Ethernet and wireless, we have the experience needed to set up or expand any network.  We are familiar with most brands of switches, routers, firewall appliances, WAPs, and more.  We can also take care of most cabling needs as well.  If your company needs a server, there's no one else in the area with more experience.

From the first NetWare and IBM LANMAN Operating Systems to today's NetWare 6 and Windows 2010 Server, we are at the top of our field.  Our experience is also broad enough to encompass network monitoring, desktop management, Directory Services, and web site design and hosting.

Why does my company need a server?
For most small businesses (up to 50 employees/users), we suggest the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server.  You can have most of the cool features of bigger businesses and corporations in one small, affordable package.  An SBS server can give you:

  • Speed.  A server can share files to multiple users faster then a PC with a shared folder can.
  • Exchange E-mail and all its sharing and collaboration capabilities (shared messages and folders, shared calendars, generic accounts, multiple-user-access to accounts, unlimited message and attachment size, mobile/SmartPhone access, etc.), as well as remote access to your E-mail.
  • Secure file sharing including mapped drives governed by user ID or group rights, folder redirection, and remote access to files.
  • Desktop Management and access (including anti-virus and other applications that can be controlled by the server or domain).
  • Roaming Profiles (any user can log in to any machine and get "their stuff"!), and backup of profiles.
  • Fax server to allow faxing to and from the server, destop, or E-mail accounts.
  • ShadowCopy and "versioning" features for keeping past versions of your documents.
  • Backups of your data and E-mail for disaster recovery.
  • Ability to run and develop Client-Server applications, large databases, etc.
  • Central control of all data, web-based applications, and more.
  • Remote Support.
  • Server hardware is different than workstation hardware.  Just one of the differences is redundant and "hot-swappable" hardware, such as disks, that allow the server to keep running and even to be fixed, even though a disk has "crashed" or is having problems.  These features provide fault-tolerance, stability, and data integrity.
